Personal information

Personal Information is any information that can be used to uniquely identify a specific individual. The definition includes information like name, age, home address, home phone number, social insurance number, marital status, religion, income, credit history, medical information, education, and employment information.

The Playbooks Collective Inc. will treat business contact information as personal information where we operate in regions where privacy laws include the protection of business contact information.

Collected information

The Playbooks Collective Inc. collects personal information:

  • Directly from users who have explicitly consented to providing access to their data for marketing purposes.
  • From companies that have consent from individuals to use and disclose their personal information.

We also collect publicly available personal information from sources prescribed by certain legislation, for example PIPA.

Personal information we collect includes name, address, email address, telephone number, location, Internet Protocol (IP) address, pages visited and other data related to your use of our clients’ services or our Services.

The Playbooks Collective Inc. collects personal information directly from you when you contact us via email, sign up through registration forms on our Services, or participate in interviews or surveys. This information may include your name, address, telephone number or email address. We may also collect personal information indirectly through third parties where you have provided your consent for your personal information to be shared.

We collect certain information from website visitors automatically. This may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser software, user IDs and passwords, pages visited and other data related to your use of our Services. The Playbooks Collective Inc. uses your personal information to:

We may use this de-identified data internally or share with our partners, service providers, and other third parties. De-identified data are not subject to privacy legislation.

If your non-identifiable data are used for research purposes, then the limitation of liability and indemnity clauses contained within the End User License Agreement/Terms of Service Agreement are waived with respect to any harms suffered or liabilities incurred as a result of any research activities.

The Playbooks Collective Inc. does not knowingly or intentionally collect personal information from individuals who are under the age of 18.

Consent

The Playbooks Collective Inc. will collect, use or disclose personal information based on your consent, which may be explicit (e.g., where you must tick a box to indicate your consent) or implicit, where the reason is obvious and voluntary (e.g., for you to receive email alerts).

The Playbooks Collective Inc. may disclose personal information to comply with any laws, regulations, court orders, subpoenas, or other legal process or investigation and to protect ourselves and other individuals from harm.

We may disclose your personal information to other third parties in relation to a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all our assets or business. Your personal information may be provided to the entities and advisors involved, for the purposes of determining whether to proceed with the transaction and, where applicable, to conclude the transaction. Your personal information may be transferred to a successor or assign of all or part of our assets or business that may use and disclose the information for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice.

Retaining Personal Information

We will retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the identified purposes or as permitted or required by law. We overwrite personal information no longer required every 30 days, such that the personal information can no longer be accessed. We destroy personal information collected from clients within 60 days or when the client unsubscribes from our Services.

Contact information that you provide to us for communications purposes will be retained until you unsubscribe or otherwise request to be removed from our database.

Security of data

We maintain appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unintentional or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, unauthorized access, and any other unlawful or unauthorized forms of processing under applicable law. We use encryption during transmission of your personal information and when we store it in our databases. We train our team to follow privacy and security practices and use contracts to ensure that third parties acting on our behalf also maintain reasonable and appropriate safeguards.

Even so, it is important to remember that the Internet is not an absolutely secure medium of communication and no system can be guaranteed 100% secure, not even The Playbooks Collective Inc.’s.

Cookies

We use functional cookies on our website to deliver the desired functionality and user experience and analytics cookies to collect and analyze aggregate visitor behavior data in an effort to improve our website. We also use marketing cookies to grow our audience and reach previous visitors with new content.

Location of Services

The Playbooks Collective Inc. is located in Canada. We may transfer personal information to partners and service providers in countries other than Canada.

Where we process personal data of data subjects in the EU, we will comply with the (GDPR).

Where The Playbooks Collective Inc. acts as a processor of personal data, we will only process personal data on documented instructions from a client (the controller).

Where The Playbooks Collective Inc. acts as a controller or joint controller of personal data, the legal basis for processing contact information (first name, last name, email address and phone number) collected through our Services or from third parties will be legitimate interest. The legal basis for processing all other personal data will be consent from the data subject.

Where data subjects in the EU seek to exercise their rights related to their personal data, The Playbooks Collective Inc. will provide support to exercise those rights, including the right to withdraw consent and the right to complain to a  supervisory authority

Employment Information

When you apply for a job with The Playbooks Collective Inc., we will collect personal information related to your application. In the event you are hired, we will collect information required to manage the employment relationship. Access to and accuracy of your information
