Dior Saddle Bag

Initially released as part of the Spring Summer 200 runway collection, it took no time for the Dior Saddle to become one of the IT bags of the 2000s as it was spotted under the arms of the pop culture phenomenons such as Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and The City to reality stars like Paris Hilton.

History of the Saddle Bag

The Dior Saddle was a creation under the reign of John Galliano’s time at the House of Dior. The kidney-shaped, cowboy-inspired bag featured a swinging Dior Charm that made its initial appearance during the Spring Summer 2000 runway collection. The short strap meant for the bag to be cradled against the wearer’s arm, making it a perfect shoulder bag.

Newer versions of the saddle are present in the market as Dior, specifically Maria Grazia Chuiri, rebooted the style during their Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Although, the new Saddlebag isn’t a complete reproduction, the new bags are slightly larger than the originals and also made in a series of new materials.
