Dior Lady

Also known as the “chouchou” bag, the original Lady Dior bag encapsulates a time in history. It was first seen held by Princess Diana herself in 1995. The bag had initially been unnamed, however, since it was heavily associated with the Princess it received the name, Lady Dior.

Those who prefer leather may opt for Cannage Quilted Lambskin, Cannage Quilted Grained Calfskin, Cannage Quilted Patent, Cannage Quilted Nubuck, Taurillon, Embroidered Leather or Perforated Calfskin. Unlike other Dior bags, the Lady Dior is available in a select range of exotic skins including Crocodile, Python, Ostrich and Lizard. For those wanting to make a fun and colorful statement, the Lady Dior bag is also available in Tweed, or with a Beaded or Sequined body.

History of the Lady

Under the creative direction of Gianfranco Ferré, the bag draws heavy inspirations from couture and contains 144 pieces. The box-shaped purse is quilted with Dior’s carnage pattern (inspired by the pattern seen on Napoleon III chairs), giving the bag a sleek and clean finish. The metallic charms attached pay homage to the charms that Mr. Dior always kept with him. The bag has been reinterpreted season after season in all sorts of colors and materials since its release, so it is to say that the Lady Dior is a perennial classic.
